HarnWare Program Updates

To check which version of HarnWare you have installed on your computer, please use Windows Explorer, right-click the HarnWare.exe file and use the properties, version menu.

HarnWare V4.5.29 Program File

If you have V4.5.22, V4.5.27 or V4.5.28 (shown as 4.5.0.22, 4.5.0.27 or 4.5.0.28) click here to download (4.3 Mbytes) the HarnWare.exe V4.5.29 file. This is required for use with later versions of Microsoft Windows and Visio, including Windows XP and Visio 2002 and 2003. It also resolves a conflict between certain anti-virus software and the dongle. To install this update simply copy the HarnWare.exe and Connectors.mdb files into your HarnWare folder, which is normally C:\Program Files\HarnWare.

HarnWare V5.0.4 Program File

If you have V5.0.1, V5.0.2 or V5.0.3 (shown as 5.0.0.1, 5.0.0.2, etc) click here to download (16.5 Mbytes) the HarnWare.exe V5.0.4 file. This is required for Visio 2003 and to resolve a conflict between certain anti-virus software and the dongle. To install this update simply unzip the HarnWare.exe and Connectors.mdb files into your HarnWare folder, which is normally C:\Program Files\HarnWare. NB These files will only work if you have all the other HarnWare V5.0 files installed on your computer, they are not an upgrade for HarnWare V4.5

HASP Device Driver or Dongle Software

Starting with Version 5.2, HarnWare no longer uses a dongle. If you are using an earlier version (4.5 or 5.0), you can determine the HASP® Device Driver version by, in Windows Explorer, double-clicking the hdd32.exe program file which is installed in your HarnWare\System folder.

The latest version of the HASP Device Driver software maybe obtained from http://www.aks.com/support/hasp/hasp4/enduser.asp To install a later version, simply download and unzip the new hdd32.exe file to replace your existing copy. Then, in Windows Explorer, double-click the program file to run and install the latest device driver on your computer.

Please refer to the ‘Installation FAQs section’ of the forum for further information including guidance on an alternative method of installing the dongle software which can be useful in certain circumstances.

Diagnostic Utility

The StartUpTest.exe diagnostic utility or fault finding program can help to identify the cause of certain installation problems. The latest version maybe downloaded by clicking here. Please refer to the ‘Fault Finding Program’ topic in the Installation FAQs section of the HarnWare forum for details on using this utility.

A paper by Ken Wallington describes Tyco's systems approach to harnessing. Six of the harness material systems included in HarnWare are described including details on how each is tailored to the specific environmental demands of applications in aircraft, ships, military ground systems and mass transit vehicles. HarnWare Overview
